LOURDES FISA. THE GAME WITH THE ART
The expert in Party Games, Oriol Ripoll, points out that the game presents “a duality: on one side it is a pedagogical tool to work with under any concept, but it is also a contents that stands for itself, an object of study with numerous branches”. Therefore, the artist Lourdes Fisa (Corbera de Llobregat, 1964) offers her particular vision of the world of the games with the exhibition 1,2,3 comença el joc (1,2,3 the game begins) which can be contemplated in the Museum Arxiu Tomás Balvey in Cardedeu, inviting the public, principally coming from the schools of the region, to participate in her work, that means, to interact with the artist’s works. The pedagogical recourse between art and game provokes the existence of a new plastic language which serves to realize that the artistic creation can reach the observer, in this case as active subject, more easily.
In this exhibition which occupies all rooms in the ground floor of the Museum, the artist presents all the diverse techniques she habitually uses: painting, engraving, installation, video, photography and sculpture. The materials she most employs are: methacrylate, wood, glass, cloth, paper and cardboard. Colour, form, gesture, the word and, first of all, imagination, all this can be found in every exposed piece. This allows the visitor to penetrate into the singular world of Lourdes Fisa, where one can find references of her journeys, of cartographies, of the paths and crossroads, of labyrinths and maps, out of which one can discover very distinct experiences and situations.
1,2,3 comença el joc is part of the project Art Vigent de Cardedeu, with which it is intended, for 10 years already, to approach the Contemporary Art the utmost possible to the public, a circumstance which the artist fulfils amply. Since her beginnings at the end of the 80ies, she always was concerned about showing an approachable, unconditional work, where pedagogy and creativity coexist. These are works with a strong social component.
