An individual exhibition by Lourdes Fisa is held in Tinglado 1 at Moll de Costa in Tarragona port from April 26 to June 3, 2018.
According to the artist, “this exhibition called Atlas gathers artworks on various formats and techniques: painting and printmaking, moving images in search of overlapping spaces constantly transmuting. Textures and layers converse with the most transparent artworks, which are modified by the light that goes through them. The exhibition gets accommodated to its port environment, where water plays a leading role.
“I got inspired by the classical Greek concept Panta Rei (‘everything flows’), attributed to the Pre-Socratic philosopher Heraclitus, and started creating on the basis that we all live in constant change”, the artist tells us.
Atlas gathers collections, fragments of ideas, mazes of reflections inspired by maps and territories, in a search for spatial representations. The sphere, maps, sketches, lines, they all become a pictorial sign of evolving and transmuting artworks over time while exploring their relations and connections. The proposal is to exhibit works from various moments in an attempt to merge time and differing concepts.”
Lourdes Fisa has an extensive artistic career. She has individually exhibited her works at various Catalan, Spanish and international institutions and galleries. She has received various awards, and her artworks are part of some prestigious collections.
