Her professional development has taken her to different countries like the US, Germany and the UK, where she created some of the artworks that she has later displayed in Spain. Since 1992, Fisa lives in Manresa, Barcelona, where she has a studio that is open to anyone interested in her work. Sharing creative experiences “Spread creativity and personal ways to understand art.” This is the reason why Fisa has decided to open her studio to the public. It is located in Passeig Pere III in Manresa, and it is occasionally opened to small groups of artists and people with artistic curiosity who want to get to know other engraving and printmaking concepts and techniques – Fisa’s specialty. She offers intensive workshops that, according to her, go beyond traditional learning. “I don’t only teach the techniques”, and she adds that her intention is “to create a synergy, a creative experience; to open the door not only of my work environment but also of the experiences I’ve gained throughout my career; to offer a creative act through a multidisciplinary work.” Enthusiasm beats the crisis The artistic field – like many others – is not going through a good moment due to the financial crisis. However, it is not a bad moment for Lourdes Fisa, who claims to have gained in popularity. According to her, her works have never been very commercial. “I don’t attract the masses since my artworks aim to reach those who love art”, says Fisa. Despite some of her colleagues fell discouraged, she want to carry on. “My job is moved by enthusiasm and love towards it, and mine are intact.” Fisa sees art as a way to interpret reality and the times we live in. “Nowadays we live absorbed by dramatic changes with no models nor examples, so we need to have an open and creative mind that seeks for some light and color”, she says.
